1. The Hang Fung Gold technology group in Hong Kong has created a bathroom that costs more than $29 million. The 24-carat gold washroom is currently displayed at The Hall of Gold. Rumours say that the toilet was built when gold prices were low, hence an asset now.

2. Fancy a crystal-studded commode? From the design studio of Jemal Wright comes a Swarovski studded toilet seat so perfect that you may not want to poop in it! At a cost of $75,000, this toilet is both beautiful and dainty.

3. Shanghai's famous Moon River Art Park takes the phrase 'Nature's call' to another level. Constructed in a man-made grotto about 30 minutes from downtown Shanghai, it is located in an art park featuring some of Asia's largest collection of outdoor sculptures. Constructed at a cost of $750,000, the toilet attracts more than 10,000 tourists on a busy day.

4. Named after the last ruler of the Merovingian dynasty in France, King Dagobert, 'Dagobert' wooden toilet throne by Herbeauth is a five feet tall toilet. The wooden latrine has a candle holder, armrest and a pull chain flush. It also plays a song, Le Bon Roi Dagobert when you open the toilet seat. This majestic toilet comes at a whopping price of $14,123.

5. Space toilets are important but expensive. Most space toilets have special equipment to make the process easier for astronauts. Apart from having leg braces (to keep the user in position) and suction fans, the toilet converts faecal matter to drinking water. The space toilet costs $19,000,000!
